Starting a Local Business: Part 2

The Sausalito Library will host a three-part program series on starting a local business presented by Nikita Khandheria, CEO of the recently opened Ditas Restaurant on the Bridgeway waterfront. The free programs will take place in the Edgewater Room of City Hall from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on three consecutive Mondays in January, beginning Monday, January 8. Participants can register for one or two of the programs if they don't want to attend all three.

Part 1 (January 8, 2024 at 7pm) - So You want to Start a Local Business: Introduction with Nikita Khandheria
In the first session of this three-part teaching series, the class will delve into the journey of Nikita Khandheria, a dynamic 21-year-old restaurant owner in Sausalito. Nikita will share insights into her path, the challenges she encountered, and the invaluable lessons she has learned along the way. This interactive session will provide a firsthand account of what it takes to open and run a successful restaurant in the unique landscape of Sausalito.

Part 2 (January 15, 2024 at 7pm) - Financial Literacy and Setting Up a Local Business with Nikita Khandheria and Daryl Niemerow
The second session will focus on crucial aspects of financial literacy and the intricacies of setting up a local business. Nikita will guide participants through the necessary filings and organizational processes, shedding light on the importance of compliance. Daryl Niemerow, the CEO of the Sausalito Chamber of Commerce, will join the session to discuss the resources and support the chamber can provide. This collaborative effort aims to empower aspiring entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools needed for a solid business foundation.

Part 3 (January 22, 2024 at 7pm) - Marketing Your Business with Nikita Khandheria
In our final session, we will focus on marketing strategies, spreading the word, and efficient operational practices. Nikita will share her experiences in promoting her restaurant. This session aims to provide attendees with practical knowledge on effectively reaching their target audience and optimizing their business operations.
