Launching a New Business : A Three Part Workshop with Local Entrepreneur Nikita Khandheria

Taking on a new business can be a complicated and daunting process. Nikita Khandheria, Chief Executive Owner of Sausalito restaurant Ditas Marin, knows this firsthand. Nikita recently acquired a breadstick company called Eria Worldwide, and is learning so much along the way as she makes decisions about how to run the company. Nikita wants to share her journey, tips and tricks with anyone thinking about acquiring a business, or just curious about the process.

 

This three-part series sponsored and hosted by the Sausalito Public Library will inform attendees about how to acquire, grow and brand a business. The sessions are staggered every three months so Nikita can come back and tell us what she's learned at each stage of acquisition. Each session will take place in the Edgewater Room in Sausalito City Hall at 420 Litho Street, Sausalito, CA. Below is a breakdown of the three workshops:

 

SESSION 1: The Acquisition Process

Date: Tuesday, August 20 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Location: Edgewater Room, lower level of Sausalito City Hall

 

This session will delve into the initial stages of acquiring a company, focusing on Nikita's recent purchase of a breadstick company Evia Worldwide. She'll cover how to work with brokers, navigate the escrow process and research  the company's market analysis, competitive landscape, and the operational assessment. The goal of this session is to walk away with an understanding of the acquisition process and the critical steps involved in successfully buying a company.

 

SESSION 2: Implementing Changes and Rebranding

Date: Monday, December 9 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Location: Edgewater Room, lower level of Sausalito City Hall

 

This session will cover the transformative changes made post-acquisition, with a focus on rebranding and operational adjustments. Nikita will cover how to conduct a branding process and make operational changes and how and when to get advice from experts. The objective of this session is to equip you with practical knowledge on how to rebrand and restructure a newly acquired company.

  

SESSION 3:  Evaluating Growth and Planning for Expansion

Date: Monday, February 17 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Location: Edgewater Room

 

The final session of this series will discuss strategies for future growth and expansion. This session will include how to conduct a profit and loss (P&L) review, create growth strategies and implement expansion plans. The objective of this session is to equip you with valuable insights into effective business expansion, strategies and operational improvements.

A note about parking:  Due to the recent expansion of Parking Permit Area C, parking on Litho Street, Bee Street, and most other residential streets in the vicinity of City Hall is prohibited after 6:00 p.m. When attending this library program, please park in the public lot behind City Hall, which is accessible via Bee Street. If the City Hall lot is full, street parking is allowed without a permit on Caledonia Street, Bridgeway, and the side streets east of Caledonia Street. There is also a public parking lot at Dunphy Park.
