The Friends Bookstore Is Open!

Have you visited the Friends Bookstore lately?

It’s just upstairs from the Library and is always receiving new inventory. The store offers nearly-new bestsellers, gorgeous antique classics, and everything in between. Don’t miss the lavish art books, music CDs, and the children’s corner.  The Friends also maintain a large bookcase of adult and children's titles for sale in the Library.

Do you have books to donate?

We are currently accepting the equivalent of up to 4 grocery bags at this time. If possible, please drop off multiple bags outside the bookstore on the upper level of City Hall.

The Friends would love them!  To donate books to the Friends, please leave them in the wooden drop-box inside the Library or on the 2nd floor hallway outside of the Bookstore. If you are bringing a large donation (multiple bags or boxes), we would be grateful if you could bring it during sale hours when we can assist you . Should our hours be inconvenient for you, call us at (415) 331-3352 and a volunteer should be able to meet you at City Hall. Donations are tax deductible, and receipts are available at the Library and the Bookstore upon request.

Volunteer at the Friends Bookstore

Do you have an extra couple of hours a week or even once a month? Why not join a congenial group in a friendly work environment? Volunteers are always needed to help with book sales. No experience is necessary; we’ll train you.

If you would like to help with Monday and/or Saturday book sales, call the Friends Bookstore at (415) 331-3352 or just drop by, and we will gladly put you to work.
