Discover & Go

discover go 200x172pxDiscover & Go is a special service that provides free and discount museum passes to library patrons. Passes can be reserved and printed online via the Discover & Go website. Museums include the Exploratorium, the Asian Art Museum, the Bay Area Discovery Museum, the Lawrence Hall of Science, the Oakland Museum of California, and many more.

Eligibility: Marin County residents with a Sausalito or MARINet library card and PIN
What's available: Free and discount passes to Bay Area museums

Note: Each museum sets a monthly limit on the number of passes available to library users. If a pass is not available in a particular month, try the following month. For assistance with your library card number and PIN, please email library@sausalito.gov or call 289-4121.

Free Tickets to the de Young and Legion of Honor 

de young 200x87pxSausalito residents are entitled to receive one ticket per year to the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.  Each ticket admits two people for general admission at the de Young or the Legion of Honor. There is a separate admission cost for special exhibits.

Please request your ticket at the Library information desk. 

Eligibility: Adults with a home address in the 94965 ZIP code with a MARINet library card
What's available: General admission tickets to the de Young or Legion of Honor

Passes to the Bay Area Discovery Museum

bay area disc 200x78pxThe Library lends out membership passes to the Bay Area Discovery Museum. One general admission pass admits "one household," i.e. two adults and and all children. The Library's two passes are available on a first come, first served basis and can be checked out for six days. Look for them with the Library's displays of new materials.

Eligibility: Adult Marin County residents with a  MARINet library card
What's available: Membership passes that can be checked out from and returned to the Sausalito Library

Please call the Library at 289-4120 to see if a pass is available. If yes, we can set it aside for two hours for you to make the trip to the Library.

Borrow a California State Parks Vehicle Day Pass

park pass 51x115pxThanks to a new program from the California State Library, the Sausalito Library has three California State Parks vehicle day passes available to the public. The passes provide free vehicle admission and parking to over 200 state parks, beaches and recreation areas, including area parks like Mount Tamalpais, China Camp, and Samuel P. Taylor.

To borrow a pass, look for one of the Golden Poppy cases in the new book display area of the Sausalito Public Library. Bring the case to the service desk with your library card, and you can check out a storage bag containing the pass and information about California State Parks. Passes circulate for up to 3 weeks and are not renewable.
