Join us on Wednesday, May 8th at 6:00 p.m. in the Edgewater Room for a screening of Carved in Silence, a documentary about Angel Island Immigration Station (AIIS), which processed thousands of immigrants crossing the Pacific from 1910-1940. Told through interviews with former detainees, dramatic re-enactments and poetry detainees carved into the walls, the film deepens our understanding of the complexities of U.S. immigration policies.
