Special Screening of Carved in Silence and Q&A with Director Felicia Lowe

  • Date: 05/08/2024 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Join us on Wednesday, May 8th at 6:00 p.m. in the Edgewater Room for a screening of Carved in Silence, a documentary about Angel Island Immigration Station (AIIS), which processed thousands of immigrants crossing the Pacific from 1910-1940. Told through interviews with former detainees, dramatic re-enactments and poetry detainees carved into the walls, the film deepens our understanding of the complexities of U.S. immigration policies. Following the screening of the film, Director Felicia Lowe will do a Q&A.
