The Sausalito Library is hosting a special eclipse-watching event at the gazebo in Dunphy Park on Monday, August 21 from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. The eclipse begins at 9:05 a.m. At its 10:22 a.m. peak, 78% of the Sausalito sun will be blocked by the moon. For the event, the Library will have a limited number of eclipse-viewing glasses to wear and share.
If there is a heavy layer of cloud and fog, the eclipse glasses will be "grab and go" at 9:00 a.m. in Dunphy Park for anyone who wants to head north or east to catch the eclipse. The Library gathering will then move to the Edgewater Room of Sausalito City Hall to watch the Exploratorium's live feed of the eclipse.
