Understanding Gender Identity

Join us for a discussion with Sausalito resident Janna Barkin and a panel of transgender and non binary youth and adults that will deepen your understanding of gender identity. Janna is the author of He's Always Been My Son, the inspiring story of the emotional and uplifting journey of raising her transgender son. She also leads a support group for parents and caregivers of transgender, gender expansive, and questioning youth at the Spahr Center in Corte Madera. Included in the discussion will be personal stories, the dimensions of gender, personal pronouns and why they are important, and suggestions for how to be an ally to transgender people in our families and communities.
