This special program will feature the screening of the new documentary Heath Ceramics: The Making of a California Classic, followed by a question and answer session with Robin Petravic and Catherine Bailey. Robin and Catherine are the Sausalito residents who took over Heath Ceramics in 2003 and have extended the legacy of the Sausalito pottery started by Edith and Brian Heath in 1948. The 55-minute documentary recounts the life and vision of ceramicist Edith Heath, along with an inside look at the Heath factory in Sausalito's Marinship district, where Heath's iconic dinnerware has been made since 1959. Heath Ceramics: The Making of a California Classic was produced in 2019 for the KCET public television series Artbound.
