Celebrating Watercolor in Sausalito
Sunday, February 16
5:00 to 6:30 p.m. inside the Sausalito Library

Celebrating Watercolor in Sausalito, an exhibit featuring paintings by three Sausalito artists who are members of the Marin County Watercolor Society, will open at the Sausalito Library on February 16. That evening from 5:00 to 6:30, artists Pat Lawrence, Diane Johnson, and Barbara Nelson will welcome viewers at a public reception. From landscapes to still life and abstract to realism, this presentation showcases the breadth and range of these local artists who have mastered the medium. The show will hang in the library until March 29. This exhibit is one of several in libraries throughout the county in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Marin County Watercolor Society which was started by Sausalito resident Ruth Alexander in 1970. One of Alexander's paintings and others by Sausalito residents in the City's collection will also be on display. The Marin County Watercolor Society is a resource for both new and experienced artists who work in watercolor and offers opportunities to paint plain air, exhibit in group shows, to learn and to share ideas.
