Join Judyth Greenburgh and Michael Rex inside the Sausalito Library at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21 for a fascinating multimedia history of the Charles Van Damme ferryboat, which was a fixture on the Sausalito waterfront from 1957 until it was (mostly) demolished in 1983. Judyth and Michael will recount the nine lives of the Charles Van Damme, from its early days ferrying cars and passengers between Richmond and San Rafael to its life aground as a Sausalito restaurant and community hangout. Today, an effort is underway to transform its surviving paddle wheel and smokestack into a historical display at Waldo Point Park.
